Mezzan Investments (formerly Union Capital) has been at the forefront of Egypt's private equity landscape since its inception in 2008. As the country's first SME-focused private equity firm, we have played a pivotal role in nurturing and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2017, we made history again by launching Egypt's first-ever mezzanine turnaround venture, further solidifying our position as a pioneer in the industry. Over the years, the team has successfully managed two fully invested SME PE funds, achieving five full exits to date, a testament to our expertise and dedication.

With over 14 years of experience in SME/Mid-Cap private equity, the team at Union Capital boasts an impressive track record of 13 successful exits across their consolidated private equity ventures. Their diversified skill set, coupled with their leadership and investment committee's complementary experience and expertise, have been instrumental in driving our remarkable achievements.

In 2020, our company underwent a transformative rebranding, emerging as "Mezzan Investments," signifying a new era of purpose and vision. With this bold step, we redefined our commitment to driving positive change and embracing a forward-thinking approach to investing. Mezzan in Arabic means balance. Our strategy is to balance growth, gender, green, and governance stratgegies and value creation approaches to drive returns and enhance performance.  As part of our dedication to advancing gender equality and promoting inclusivity, we proudly launched North Africa's first-ever gender-lens focused fund. This pioneering initiative is specifically designed to channel investments into empowering and supporting SMEs that champion gender diversity and women's economic empowermen, building on an existing business case. By directing our financial resources and expertise towards these promising businesses, we strive not only to generate compelling financial returns but also to create lasting social impact, fostering an environment where businesses thrive, and women's economic participation is nurtured and celebrated.
